This morning I had to start at 7:30 and having about three hours of sleep I knew 7pm couldn’t come fast enough. I walked into work zombie like but knew what I had to get done. Just after I prepared myself and the actual work to get done, to my surprise my boss asked me to take our company van to the dealership for a recall. I wasn’t sure how long it was supposed to take and when I had asked the clerk she gave me an unsure answer. So in efforts to regain some consciousness and energy I walked to get a bagel and coffee. Luckily its only a few businesses away. After being here for about an hour and a half my boss calls me asking what’s taking so long. He said the clerk told him it would only take 15 minutes. After I hung up I had to laugh then checked on the van. The clerk yelled at the mechanics and finally someone is currently working on it. However in this whole time of stryker money I’ve wasted being on the clock, I met an elder woman who was with her 45 year old daughter dropping off her vehicle. We chatted for a bit after I came back from the bagel store. We talked about schools and simple things. It just happened to be she grew up in Clifton too. She told me some things about her life and kids. She was a very kind woman. That right there was the better part of my day. The best part was waking up knowing Leigh was next to me. When I got back from work is my day took a turn. My boss was furious at me for being at the dealership for so long. It wasn’t even my fault. He insisted he told me it was supposed to take 15 minutes but I’m sure he did not. I told him that but he confidently denied. However that’s the second time he has gotten mad at me for something he claims he said. I’m really contemplating on speaking to the department manager about this. I almost can’t stand working with my current manager. I don’t think I’ve ever been so mad at work. I could feel my heartbeat in my temple. It was that bad. I’m no complainer usually but this is one. Something had to be said. Hopefully the day will go by better.
